Just some pics of my travels...

A chronicle of the 3-4 months I spent travelling around Western Europe over the summer of 2004. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed the experience of it.

Road trip after Mediterranean cruise (Venice - Rome). Highlights: 1. Siena (Piazza del Campo, Duomo) 2. Montalcino (Castello di Velona, Abbey of Sant'Antino) 3. Florence (Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, Arno river, Uffizi Gallery, Duomo, Opera concert)

  Bongiorno from Florence! And by Florence I mean the Italy one (as much as I like Alabama). This is quite a small and beautiful city, although you will pay top dollar to stay in a hotel or shop at the expensive stores. Our hotel is a little “less nice” than some of the others we’ve stayed in, but definitely livable for a few days. The shower in the bathroom is probably the funniest. You gotta love low-cost airlines. For £50 return each Lou and got away for a nice weekend in Florence

I went backpacking for one month through out western Europe. I visited London, Paris, Barcelona, Nice, Florence, and Rome.

Hopped on the train from Roma to Firenzi. I love this city and would love to go back. Michaelangelo's 'David' blew my mind. I saw the statue and my jaw just dropped. I took a hidden shot of the statue when the guards weren't looking...Enjoy!

Luckily Florence really isn't that big so the treck to and from the police station, to the consolate, to the passport photo shop and back to the consolate isn't that horrid.  So in a meer six hours later- I have a new (HORRIBLE) passport picture and a temporary passport that will get me where I need to be.  Florence was wonderful though.  The rape of the Sabine women will forever be one of my favorite sculptures.  The living statue people in…

This is where it all started

this trip was organised by my school in our sixth year. an unforgetable experience! I will go back there, but not to visit its many museums but to get to know the people a little bit more. There are some gaps in the dates because i didn't take pictures at that time ( raining, like in Ravenna, or dead batteries :) ) Some pictures may be from another place I visited in Italy, so give me a mail if you see some wrong titles at the pictures ( nobody is perfect :) )

(From my journal entry)  Woke up early again and began our drive to Florence, which I really was excited by because I heard the city was absolutely gorgeous.  When I arrived I certainly wasn’t disappointed.  First got wowed by how pretty it was, even though it was under massive rebuilding.  Proceeded around the city with a tour guide, stopping us at a lot of the major sites within the city including Michelangelo’s David, and other prominent sculptures.  Als…
