I never thought that i can visit Europe so early, at least totally out of my expectation. Travelling is always my passionate. Sometimes when we talked about everything during our europe journey, we can't help to think about every single things, scenes, peoples, building we've seen.......

Seeing Florence for the first time can be quite overwhelming. The sheer amount of art and history is mind blowing...the whole city is like one huge museum! One of the world's oldest and most famous being the Uffizi Gallery which houses Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" and "La Primavera…

My European vacation had been in the works for a while, I just didn’t know that I would do it through Contiki tours. Originally, I was just going to grab my backpack, buy a Eurorail pass and set out on my own. But, with limited time, I decided doing a tour would allow me to see as much as possible in my timeframe, therefore, I chose a 23 day European Vista tour, through Contiki. It turned out to be a fantastic decision!

Today was amazing! We had class in the morning, but we had the whole afternoon to ourselves. After class we ate at a restaurant near the Duomo--I think it was called Duomo Ristorante (very original). It was a little touristy for me--too much of the menu was in English; however, the food was really r…

Caught the Circumvesvian to Naples and then the EuroStar Italia to Florence. Dropped our things off at the hostel and headed toward the Accademia. The Accademia looked like an apartment building, if there wasn't a short line outside I would have passed right by it. The main attrac…

The quest to arrive in Florence was quite the battle.. it began smoothly as we hopped onto our train in Venice, but slowly changed to one which tested our patience as we arrived in Bologna to meet a train which was to arrive at 13:20, but arrived 40 minutes late and so full of people that we did no…

On the third day of our trip we went to see Florence. Again, we took a city sightseeing bus tour, there are two different routes, starting at the central station. We saw the baptistry, a few cathedrales, and in one we saw the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo. We tried to see Michelangelo's David, …

(cont'd...) The sun was winding down when we boarded the bus going back to Santa Maria Novella from Piazalle. Another bus route means different things to see, but then again, it could snag you elsewhere. It happened to us that afternoon. Anyway, we reached our intended destination a littl…

Firenze, or Florence as it's known to us, is the city of the Renaissance. So, as you could imagine, art is the main focus of the place. The architecture here is stunning, as is all the amazing works of art.
I started the day off by just wandering the streets, taking in tuscany's beauty, of w…

So getting to Florence was quite an adventure. High winds prevented my small Lufthansa plane from landing, so we circled to a nearby airport only to find we were unable to land there as well. After flying about an extra hour or…

Thanksgiving, Italian style was actually very similar to Thanksgiving, Asian style. In that there was a giant roast beef instead of turkey. And that there was cheesecake for dessert. Unlike Asian Thanksgiving in that the waiter kept encouraging me to drink grappa for the digestive…
