Experiencing WORLD CUP 2006 while touring Europe on a bus full of Chinese people!

I went to Genoa, Italy to visit a friend. I visited the Tuscany Region in Italy, Monaco and Switzerland.

We all had preconcieved notions of Florence but not very many of them were fufilled unfortunately. The home of the Renaissance wasn't particularly beautiful and every other building was a hotel which was unbelieveably annoying. We never did make it to see David which may have contributed. Well, weve left Florence after 3 days, hoping to have a long stay in one hostel, but didnt quite work out that way.  No hostels for 3 nights in a row so we had to move EVERY night, haha...ended up not seeing Tuscany the way we wanted to except from a bus window.  I definitely could move here.  Its exactly like Under the Tuscan Sun...rolling green hills, groves of olive and lemon trees, medieval castles and stone villages built on rock, and Im sure, that chick from the movie was...

This was my month-long backpacking trip when I was studying abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury. I visited most of Western Europe and spent a lot of time in Scandanavia.

After 2 weeks in France, we headed to the heart of Tuscany, Florence. Even though we saw spectacular views of the French Riviera, this was by far the worst train experience we had on our entire journey! Traveling from Arles to Milan took forever. 6 hours enclosed in this little compartment with 2 other people (6 in total) with one window that would slam shut whenever we entered a tunnel. This was my first trip to Europe and it was great. I started out in London and then went to the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France. Each country was amazing, from the canals in Italy to the Moulin Rouge in Paris. The people were great and the food was even better, although they do serve some unique sausage in Germany. I found the churches in Austria to be some of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. They had pink and white marble and there was attention to detail.

A summary of all my trips so far...from Europe to South America and then Asia...and Asia...and Asia... Yes I love Asia and I have the feeling I'll keep going back!
