Our tour today began with a bus ride to the 16th century Academia of Fine Arts which has been home to Michelangelo’s David, neither one of us is an art connoisseur but that is a masterpiece you can almost see him breath. Then we walked over to the Duomo, a massive building with a huge dome and the usual display of the church’s wealth and power. Then a few blocks to T…

We spent two nights in Florence at a really nice apartment with a bed for each of us, a huge kitchen and bathroom and a great location! The first night we just settled into the place and went out for dinner at this really good Italian restaurant.... Steph got to try Prosecco for the first time (an Italian sweet, bubbly wine). We decided to hit the sack early because we had a lot to see the next day!
After a few mysterious things happened in our apartment (Steph´s bed moved & the l…

Ah, my glorious return to Italy. Even though it had been three years, I could still nagivate through the streets pretty well. kinda. Florence is so beautiful. I love the basilica and the dome is amazing. The Ponte Vecchico is cool too. The fountain of Neptune at Piazza della Signoria is gorgeous. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. Sucks that I couldn't spend to much time in Florence. Got into Rome in the afternoon and got to Florence that night. And unfortunately left the next a…

One of the most amazing trips of my life.
It was crammed into a short amount of time but it was a lot of fun.
I love the diversity between the cities in Italy. Can't wait to go back to Rome!

I arrived in Florence the night before (March 6th), and went to a hostel, but surprised to learn it was completely booked. What? I thought this was offseason. So I walked around the city, looking for any hotel that has room. Eventually, I found one, called the Hotel Tina. It was kind of like a B&B, and was pretty nice. I was just glad to have a place to spend the night, after being homeless in Venice. The next day, my full day in Florence. I did visit here back in 1993, but I could only re…

Ok I dont have much time so I have to be fast. Spent four nights in Rome, was awesome. Saw the vatcian while the pope was giving his weekly address, the museums, the frescos, the piazzas and the trevi Fountain.
Currently in Florence. Saw the David today, was absolutely amazing. How any one can produce such a masterpiece is beyond me.
Decided to head to Nice tomorrow, so this will be our last night in Italy. This is sad. Italy is an amazing country, will bring some special liquors h…
