We didn't even do anything cultural here (except for the afternoon siestas) because we went during a holiday weekend.

This trip was a blast, my cousin Nathan and I drove through Europe in a Peugeot 206. We went 17,000 klm in just 21 days. From Italy to Spain, to the Netherlands and back to the UK. It was a great trip and I miss France the most.

And so to Firenze. I stayed
at a hostel that had one of the most interesting breakfasts included in the
price - you could choose from cereal or eggs cooked a variety of ways (first
time I've ever had a cooked-to-order free breakfast), plus there was a very
random buffet: fruit, cake, chips, mini sandwiches, and what looked like
leftover pasta & pizza & risotto (not sure where it was leftover from,
as they didn't serve other meals), plus some grey gloopy stuff that could ha…

Here are some pictures from the trip threw Italy. We started in Rome and stayed some days in a nice flat from an old lady. Just for this big historical city you can spend a lot of time. After Rome and Vatican, we visited Florence. Our last station was Milan.

Exhausted from a long day of travel, we stayed in Florence, Italy with an intent to visit art museums on Monday. However, please note that ALL OF THE MAIN ART MUSEUMS IN FLORENCE ARE CLOSED ON MONDAY! So, we changed our travel plans to visit Cinque Terre instead, which turned out to be absolutely fabulous.
By the way, navigating the streets of old town Florence in the eve is a nightmare--just ask Robert! Parking is even worse! Whew, tough night!

Florence is a great city albeit a bit touristy. The streets are stone, as are all the piazzas and monuments. Breathtaking artwork and statues abound in the city's museums. But, just like other italian cities, the streets are narrow, winding, and full of shops. Make sure to check out the outdoor market with enough leather goods, scarves, and jewelery to make anyone swoon. But beware of the tourist traps -some coffeeshops charge extraordinary prices for simple espresso, so check before you order.

Im in Florence now and met up with Tai this morning. When we were getting ready to head out I ran into one of the Australians I had met in Rome so he joined us and the three of us went for a quick tour of Florence with Tai. It seems like a pretty nice city, but it is expensive here. Luckily Tai knows a lot of little places to eat so we grabbed lunch for about €2 and he knows a place we can get dinner for about €5. The food really hasnt been too expensive over here.…

So today just turned into Christmas for me. My boss decided since it was my last week of work, and this being Italy that they were going to give me 3 DAYS OF VACATION. So I have decided to go to Zagreb, Croatia. So tonight I will have to rush home, get my passport, rush back to the train station and buy my tickets to Zagreb (if they are sold out I am going to Munich), then back to Rome, with a stopover in Florence to grab my bags, so I can get back by early saturday morning for my flight to G…
