Flight Delay Reviews
Flight delay Jan 29, 2009
In may 2008 we went to South Africa with Air France. We flew from Amsterdam to Johannesburg Airport South Africa, the flight went perfect. After 2 1/2 weeks our flight was scheduled to fly back at 23:55hr, the last flight from that airport that day. During the retrival of the passengerbrigde from the airplane, it hit the left engine of the plane and destroyed it. We had the leave the aircraft. Then we put our name on a list for another flight out of Johannesburg. They told us to stay at the airport in case we could go on another flight. Information was terrible. To shorten the story, we stayed at the airport till the early morning with no drinks no food nothing, the airport was completely closed. Only the stewardess fron the airplane sneaked out some snacks from the plane, wich wasn't even allowed. At 10 o clock in the morning we got a hotel were we stayed for a couple of hours, we just went to bed and the called us that we had to come to the airport, so we did. Arriving at the airport there was still no airplane, they told us to stand in line for a KLM flight to amsterdam, that took us 4 hours in line, but we missed the 6 o'clock flight out it was FULL!!! After another 3 hours in line we finally got a seat on the 23:55 KLM flight out of Johannesburg directly to Amsterdam. With an hour delay again we finally left South Africa.
When we came back home we clamed the flight delay to air france/klm, after a week we were called up by a lady from air france. She offert us a 600,- Euro check per person for the delay!!!! Ofcourse we excepted it. So if you ever have a delay do not forget to clame your flight at the airline wich was delayed!!!
