Flannigans Kitzbuhel Reviews
Flannigans Mar 19, 2011
Flannigan’s is an Irish bar in Kitzbuhel with sports on the TV, and cows on the
ladies’ toilets. The sports are mostly people falling off skis in painful
looking ways, although we watched the Scotland-Italy rugby there so I presume
there’s some sort of policy on playing what the skiers want to watch. In the
daytime, it is a pleasant bar, if slightly short of chairs, with lovely friendly bar staff and hot dogs or pizzas to eat, depending on what is on the sports. Like much of Europe, it is table service, although I nearly always forgot and
went to the bar. There is also free wifi.
At night, of course, the atmosphere changes to entertainment for the vast hordes of younger skiers and boarders, with cheap Jaegar bombs and people in fancy dress. I was there at the end of season party and there was live entertainment– I think that might be a semi-regular thing through the season.
Despite my usual policy of avoiding Irish bars like the plague, I really liked
Flannigans. There is something quite fun about watching Scotland-Italy rugby in an Irish bar in Austria, and it was a nice place to go at night.
