The Flamingo Las Vegas is located right at the centre of the strip. I picked it for that very reason and also because we got a super cheap deal through Expedia.
Check in was very quick. I had read a lot of reviews that mentioned the long queues but when we got there it was practically empty. We had interconnecting rooms on the ninth floor in the part of the hotel that hasn't been fully renovated. The rooms were a good size and clean. You could tell the age of the place in the bathroom. There was a fair amount of lime scale on the shower head and the boys room had the sink plug missing. But it wasn't bad enough to really complain about. The one thing I will say is that if you don't like sickly sweet smells you better not stay here. As soon as you enter the lobby/casino you can't in any way miss the very strong smell of vanilla mixed with another floral type smell. The pool area was ok but very crowded and cleanliness wasn't the best. Needs updating.  Part of the Vegas Birthday #3/AZ Road Trip travel blog

Met up with J & P around 7:30am and headed over to Flamingo for their breakfast buffet. I have never had their buffet before and it was great, with a nice view of the garden. Form there we saw the penguins and flamingos. I won $335 on the Double-Diamond w/ Cheese (or called something like that… Las Vegas January 22 - 26, 2006 |

Tower , but is a trifle sad inside. Then,
feeling tired from all the walking and constant bombardment with instant
gratification we went and sat in the Flamingo hotel foyer, which is outside,
fairly quiet and has an African-crowned crane and a small flock of Chilean
flamingos.

The conference was in the flamingo Hilton which is perfect. I told Dana to meet us at the corner of “the strip and flamingo near the 201 bus stop. We can just “SNATCH AND GRAB” her HAHAHAHA. I can’t wait to meet Dana. She was cracking up that… I FINALLY MET DANA (JERSEYGIRL67) |

THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE “INSANE” MEET UP The pool party was changed to flamingo Hilton pool. The security has been changed. They check every guest with keys and has a machine to check if it works. The Flamingo is a great hotel. It's not one of those hotels that you walk in to sight see but it was a great price and in my opinion, the best location on the strip (right in the middle). They had a nice garden area… First Day |
