Flame Tree Barbecue Walt Disney World Reviews
Crazy Colors in a Natural Setting Jun 17, 2009
A counter service restaurant, the Flame Tree Barbecue provides hot and cold meals. Hot meals are all served barbecue style: ribs, chicken, or pork. Cold meals include a turkey sandwich, barbecue chicken salad, or fruit plate. Dad had the salad which came in a large bowl, lots of lettuce with strips of chicken mixed in. Mom and I had the fruit plate which also comes with a little cup of yogurt. The fruit included honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, and grapes.
While Dad was ordering the food, Mom and I walked along the shaded paths behind the eatery to find seating under one of five pavillions. We found two small tables at the pavillion located on the river which gave us a great view of Expedition Everest (and also a great soundtrack--screaming guests as the train whipped around the mountain). The tables were bolted to the ground so we couldn't push them closer although they were already pretty tight to each other. That worked for us since we were a family. It also worked for the two couples sitting in front of us; the two men were both military and conversation quickly flowed. Larger families or couples desiring privacy may find this seating arrangement awkward. Also since the pavillions are open-air, they are not air-conditioned (although I was not at all uncomfortable).
Condiments are provided at each pavillion.
