The next day, I woke up at 6AM, after a surprisingly restful night of sleep by the traintrack-side hostel. I decided I had time to hike Mt. Elden, just north of Flagstaff.
A unpaved road off Highway 89/Route 66 leads to the Little Elden Springs trailhead. The trail leads through a …

Driving took up the rest of our day. After spending three or four hours at Petrified National Park we decided to scrap a couple of other items. We did stop at one short side trip. Red Rock State Park. The colors and rock formations were very interesting and provided several nice pictures.
We arriv…

As the sun continued to set and we drove out of Sedona, I made several comments on the stormy sky off to the side, not realizing we were about to head through all that! As we drove, it looked like rain was forming but it didn't make the same noise rain does as it hits the window. Could …

Decided that I had better take a look at Historic Flagstaff, since I've been here 4 days and have not gone there yet. First stop this morning was to Flagstaff Mall to see if a camera store there might be able to fix my telephoto lens. Unfortunately, they do not have anybody on staff to handle this.…

These are photos since August 2007, as I stated none of them have been edited or changed. I just wanted these to be pure, untouched by the digital blackroom that is my life.

After checking into the hotel, we headed over to the Lowell
Observatory in Northern Flagstaff. We
were there just as the evening hours started, so there was no crowds.
After watching a short 12 minute film about what you can see
in the night sky, out the back doors we go to…

So we drove away from the Grand Canyon and I was exhausted with a capital E... all I wanted was food... we drove in towards flagstaff and stopped at the first pizza place we found. I can't remember the name of it but it had a large dining area... you go up to the counter and order your pizza …

Yes, Arizona
gets SNOW.
This year in particular had some wonderful snow fall. And being that I don’t
ski, I wanted to get some hiking in and the best way to do that is with
snowshoes.
I rented a pair from REI for a day, I think it cost me $34 USD. You have to
return these when you…
