Affordable Delicious Food in a Locals Hangout Jul 02, 2011
Five Loaves is located a little out of the way from the main tourist area of downtown Charleston, but it is worth the trip. It is about a 15 minute walk from the center square (Marion Square), but with delicious food and very reasonable prices it is definitely worth the trip. For lunch they have great selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches, with a long list of specials that change every day. They have fresh ingredients and often have vegetarian dishes, as well as fresh fish, steak, you name it. A soup/salad combo will only cost you around $7. For dinner, in addition to the lunch menu, they have full entrees that can also be beef, fish, fresh pasta, all of the above, and always a delicious specials list as well. The most expensive meal is maybe $15-16 dollars, but its hard to believe its so cheap with the quality of the food.

A few nights of the week they also have wine specials.

The one downside is that it is a very small restaurant, so they fill up quickly during peak hours and you cannot make reservations, so plan accordingly.
