Fisherman's Wharf - The shrimp entree following my lobster stew. Good, but no 'wow' factor.
Fisherman's Wharf - Sardine appetizer, which was rather awesome (for those of you inclined to eat raw fish).
Fisherman's Wharf - Fisherman's Wharf - the restaurant adjoining Inn on the Wharf in Lubec, Maine
Fisherman's Wharf - Lobster stew. Broth was rather flavorless, but lots of chunks of fresh tasty lobster meat!
Fisherman's Wharf - The back deck at Fisherman's Wharf - looks out on a splendid water view.

This is the on campus restaurant at Inn on the Wharf and it suffers from the odd combination of plusses and minuses as the adjoining hotel. Indoor seating lies along a single, narrow corridor, so it feels cramped (though honestly not as bad as it looks). There is also outdoor seating on a back porch which offers a splendid water view, though I doubt it gets much traffic – seems like the majority of the time it is either freezing cold or infested by mosquitoes.

Of course seafood is the ‘specialty’, but there is not a broad range of choices in this arena. I had two dinners and two breakfasts here and the overall the food was rather bland, without being awful. I sampled the lobster stew one evening and that was a prime example: the broth was tasteless but it was packed with chunks of lobster meat that was fresh and quite good. Tabasco bottles sit on every table, so at least I was able to jazz the stew up and make it a very nice serving.

Among those limited seafood selections was a sardine appetizer, which I ordered the following evening. This was served raw, so without any involvement from the kitchen I savored another plentiful batch of fresh treats from the sea (yummy!). Prices seemed a bit steep, but I was surprised to see a handful of locals in attendance each night. Perhaps I am out of practice pricing seafood?

Wait staff was comprised of local ladies who were competent, but lacked the poise and polish I anticipate for the price point. A good option if staying at the hotel during off season when choices are limited, but not a place I would go out of my way for.
