First Friday Reviews

Dec 14, 2007
On the first Friday of each month in Old City, local art galleries remain open and street artists line the neighborhood with hand made art and street performances. Locals and tourists alike wander the streets enjoying the art, crowds, wine, and scenery. If art is not your thing, there are many neighborhood restaurants and bars which draw from the "First Friday" crowd and make for an entertaining time.

The Galleries usually remain open until about 9:00, and the artists and crowds gather from Vine Street to Market St (N-S) and Front Street to Third Street (E-W). In my experience, most of the action takes place on Third Street, between Arch St & Race St. Parking is terrible at best, so find another means of transportation to the area. The fact that alcohol is aplenty should discourage you further from driving to the area.
