Firhouse or Teach ná Giúise is village in Dublin just on the foothills of the Dublin Mountains with the River Dodder on the otherside. It is often mistakenly thought to be Tallaght which it so happens to border along with Knocklyon and Templeogue.

It is a once rural area, however, due to the house prices and demand for land, it is quickly becoming part of the core suburbs in South Dublin.

Firhouse has several pubs and many more within a few minutes walk of each other such as Morton's and The Speaker Connolly which serves lovely pub grub during the day.

One key issue about the area, is the pronunciation of its name. In Irish, "fir" means "of the man" and is pronounced "fear". However, Firhouse is named for the laneway that is at its centre lined with fir trees, hence why the pronunciation is essentially F"u"rhouse.
