Coffee geek friendly cafe in Shibuya Sep 30, 2014
It would seem that Tokyo has it all - robot fighting restaurants, oxygen bars, maid cafes. But there is something missing, and that is decent coffee houses with outdoor seating, where you can sit for hours and people watch (or update your dream journal). I may have accidentally stumbled across one such place today in the back alleys of Shibuya.

Filbert Steps is a 'Coffee Geek Friendly' cafe, sitting somewhere between Inokashira Dori and Takeshita St, a ten minute walk north of Shibuya station. The cafe has ample seating on its verandah, as well as some amphitheatre style steps out front. Inside, the venue is spacious, with a large screen (which was showing surfing videos while I was there). The coffee is prepared in your choice of 3 styles, drip, french press or chemex, and served in a large heavy mug.

Filbert Steps is an easy-going place to relax amidst the hustle of one of the busiest neighbourhoods in Tokyo. Now if only someone could convince them to turn off that Jack Johnson shite...
The perfect spot for you and your …
