My first day in Fiji and I get burnt to a crisp...

My flight landed on time in Nadi at 5am woohoo. I went up to the Awesome Adventure office and found out I had to catch a bus to the port at 7:30 I think. There I met a girl from Sweden and we chatted for a bit. I got on the boat and sat on the deck because I did not realize there was an under area. Bad idea. It was 5 hours in the sun to my island. Not cool, I got soo badly burnt as I had no sunscreen on, but I didn't even know because it was windy! Oh well...I got to my island in the mid…

Fiji Cruise 2007: Naviti Island Travel Photos
posted by:

after a very long trip from Rome we get to Nadi (Viti Levu) where we start a combination of three cruises (3,4 and 7 days) for 2 weeks in the Yasawa and North-eastern Islands. A small ship (Cpt. Cook cruises), not so many passengers (30-70), great crew, very nice and different travel companions (some trouble with thei accents...) and really warm and oen local villagers. Weather at times problematic (wind, waves, rain) but mostly good. Very relaxing. Beautiful undersea scenery!

Hey everyone! So we have just flown t Sydney after spending 2wks in Fiji so I thought Id fill you in with what we have been doing. We got a Bula pass to island hop round the Ysawa Islands - a group of about 20 islands in Fiji for 2 wks. We started off in South Sea Island - the smallest island in the Mammanucas - it takes like 5mins to walk round the island and wherever you sit you can see the sea in every single direction and it was surrounded by corals. We spent a couple of nig…

10 days in Fiji
posted by:
Feb 17, 2005 - Jul 07, 2005
I got a free stopover on my way to New Zealand on Air Pacific. My sister had studied abroad there a few years earlier so she told her friends I was coming and that I was to meet up with them in Suva. I arrived the first day very early in the morning and found a hostel with a free airport shuttle. I ended up meeting a girl there who was going to attend the same university as me in New Zealand which was kind of a strange coincident. We decided to go for a snorkel trip the next day to Malamala …

Trying to relax in Fiji
posted by:
May 05, 2007 - Jul 17, 2007
My travels began with a bit of a rough start, but I was still able to enjoy "Fiji time" and relax and reflect. My flight from Vancouver was delayed, and so I barely made the connecting flight to Fiji, while my pack was less fortunate and stayed behind. So I spent my first day shopping for a bathing suit and cheap t-shirts in the town of Nadi, fighting off the aggresive local merchants. From Nadi, I took a boat to a small island called Mana. It was very small, and only had a couple resort…

Been blown away these last couple of days. I've been doing a Scuba Diving Course to get my certification. Only a week I was jumping out a plane at 12,000 feet over snow capped mountains and a huge glacial lake near Queens Town and today I've been 60 feet below the surface of the ocean in some of the most amazing coral reef the world has to offer. The world is a beautiful place and God must have had a blast creating it all! :-)The PADI course has actually been quite intense - over the last …

Arrived 5.15am, body clock totally up the creek! It doesn't take us long to learn that Fijians live at a different pace to what we'd been used to in the states...they simply call this 'Fiji Time'....on the way to our resort we pick up a girls handbag from a market and get petrol. The Travellers beach Resort in Nadi, where we are staying turns out to be fine, rooms very basic and bathroom a little grot but it was only $10 USD a night! It has a beach, swimming pool and hammocks. The goo…
