Figueira Rubaiyat

Figueira Rubaiyat, the “fig tree,” must be one of the most beautiful restaurants in São Paulo. It is built around a massive old fig tree with limbs extended throughout the restaurant. You can sit either in the gazebo (considered outside seating) or inside. Rubaiyat specializes in beef but also has a large selection of seafood and other items. All the beef is prime and is advertised as the best in São Paulo. Although beef is their specialty, the paella is not to be missed.

The wine list is reasonably priced and extensive with a selection of fine wines from all over the world. The servers are attentive and the service is top-notch. Having previously read reviews on this restaurant, my expectations were high. My steak was cooked to perfection and the rest of the meal impeccable…I would say they surpassed my expectations.

For those that have ever paid for a 5-star meal in New York or London, you will be pleasantly surprised that this meal will be just as good if not better for less than half the price.
