Fiesta Americana Condesa Hotel Cancun

I stayed here for three nights in May 2007.

The central a/c in the room was efficient and fairly quiet, but the housekeeping staff would raise the temperature when we left the room so we returned to a stuffy room upon our return.

The room had no balcony and no windows to open, so we felt a bit locked in. The hallways to the lobby were open air but the atriums were heavily planted, and therefore, watered a couple of times per day, which made for very, very humid conditions just outside of our room. These atriums also made the common areas dark.

The pool was beautiful, but since it was a little cheaper hotel it was full of college kids who were traveling in packs. The beach area was not as clean, more crowded than the Hyatt, and more beach bars.

The restaurant near the beach, however, served good food, cold beers, and had a friendly waitstaff. The view couldn't be beat.

Our rate was about $145-$150 per night - an average value.
