Although not a typical city to visit while in Germany, if you find yourself stopping through on a break or wanting to see another city in Germany stop by Fiddlers Green Irish Pub in Schweinfurt Germany (apx 60km from Wurzburg) Located downtown near many great restaurants and cafes, Fiddlers is a traditional Irish pub in the midst of an industrial city with a long and important spot in history. Fiddlers, or 'The Pub' as known by its regulars is open Mon-Sun 7pm-1am. Most nights you will find some type of live entertainment. Mon-Wed is usually mixed music but starting most Thursdays and going through Sunday, you will find live bands (Kojak being the local fav), Folk Singers, and once a month Kareoke (Don't worry the singing gets better the drunker you are.) You will find a variety of patrons from around the world drinking everything from traditional Irish beers and spirits to local brews. Mick keeps the place in order however you will often find many of the regulars singing to the Murphs while standing on benches and drinking endless amounts of car bombs and Leprechauns~ a local pub shot. Drink prices are cheap and there is no cover to get in so your money will go to where its meant.. to ensure you are having a great time. The waitresses and bartenders are fluent in German and English and are happy to ensure you get your drinks quickly. Tips are expected as in any other German pub (if you dont know how German food services work grab a travel guide and do some resaerch.) however they wont frown if you throw some euro their way to help them out with their rent. If you have the chance, get down there on a weekend and enjoy a typical Irish Pub in a German setting.
