Cruising around Turkey

My last few days in Selcuk I divided time between the resident kitten and the sea.  I finished filling my memory card for the third time this trip so far and found a computer geek in the back of a carpet shop to transfer all my pics onto my memory stick and eliminate the virus that found its way onto my card somehow - all free of charge and without a carpet sales pitch!  The Turkish are the most helpful people I've encountered (when they are not trying to sell you somethin…

Day 09 - Selcuk to Fethiye
posted by:

After a quick breakfast at the Hotel we quickly dashed towards town to make plans for the day.  We were advised that our blue cruise would not be leaving until Monday so we’d two whole days to kill in Fethiye but we needed to get ourselves sorted to find out what tours and activities might be available.  The upside to visiting Turkey before ANZAC day is that the place is pretty quiet and the weather is really good.  The downside is the place is pretty quiet and the weather …

Aaannndddd we're about to hop on another night bus back to Istanbul... hopefully this one is a bit less eventful than the last... hahah. Today we decided to go on a guided tour of the surrounding area of Fethiye because apparantley it is quite difficult to get around on your own and still get to see everything.  It turned out to be quite the geriatric trip (we were definitely the only ones without a fake hip or dentures... hahah) but everyone was really nice and we got to explore much o…

Welcome! My travel started 10 years ago and I am now travelling mainly with my husband and two daughters. My family is quite international as our girls have 3 nationalities. First on is a European(we live in London ), second one is down under(my husband is a kiwi) and the last on is a far-eastern(I am a Korean). We'd like to celebrate differences in race, religion, age and class, etc. by travelling around. Hope you enjoy reading different types of travels as well.

"Sea fell in love with the city of lights" Once upon a time, the god Apollo fell in love with the youngest daughter of Finike King. The girl was so shy that he had to find an exceptional way to get closer to her. To live close to her, he turned himself into a little puppy. When he won her heart, he appeared as a handsome young guy. The couple named their first kid as Telmessos (The city of lights). Once Telmessos, now known as Fethiye, is where green meets the charm of the sea.
