Definitely see it when you get the chance Mar 17, 2013
Currently located in the Camp Minnie-Mickey in Animal Kingdom, the Festival of the Lion King is a stage show based on the film, that is definitely worth seeing.

The show has 4 different singers, with each one representing the different sections where the guests sit. Those sections are given a name of an animal, and often called to do that animal’s noise. For example, if one section had elephant, and gets called upon, the guests in that section made an elephant sound. The singers would sing the familiar songs, like “Circle of Life”, “Be Prepared”, and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”

Along the way, Timon makes an appearance, along with floats featuring Pumbaa and Simba. And a bunch of acrobats, performing some amazing acrobatic acts. But it is not so much about the movie itself, but more about African safari culture, as the singers are dressed in costumes like that. And the acrobats in animal costumes, performing amazing acrobatic tricks.

Even if you are not a fan of “The Lion King”, definitely see this show. It is really entertaining and amazing to watch. I am not really a fan of the movie and think it is overrated, but I enjoy this show a lot.

It will be relocated to the Africa section sometime in 2014. So it may be closed if you visit during that time. Check the Times Guide to be sure, and for exact showtimes.
