Ferry between Bali and Java Jun 15, 2013
Ferry between Bali and Java is very painless experience, and generally organized chaos that works pretty well. There are many ferries and docks that you can access. I went to the ferry with a bus, so I did not need to maneuver my vehicle or to walk on the boat directly, but I have seen people walking in without any problems. Ferries are large but shape and crew are under different standards from company to company. I was always amazed with the skill of truck drivers and how they park those huge trucks in the smallest spaces. As soon as ferry fills up, they leave for the other side. There is no schedule or exact time frame. Crossing takes around one hour and you will have to wait a bit before docking because there are many boats going in and out. Boat crew is very young and uses interesting techniques to dock and adjust the direction of the boat… If you have choice of ferry, check it before getting in. Safety is pretty optional thing on this boats so choose to cross this strait during the calm sea.
