Ferme Des Sanglochons - Lively Ham Museum Verlaine Reviews
La Ferme des Sanglochons Mar 07, 2009
Next to the motorway to Luxembourg and on the corner of the main road to Neufchâteau I saw this beautiful stone building which looked like a place that had to be checked out.
After a visit to Neufchâteau we drove back the same way and I had decided to check it out.
The place was a combination of a Tavern, boutique and a museum, all concentrated around the farm bred boar.
Inside the place was very cosy, with old stone walls and dark tables. The first things that caught the eyes were a small shop with ham, sausages and local farm products like milk and jam.
A friendly young girl asked if she could help and some thereafter we were sitting waiting for our cold drinks. I tasted a beer that I hadn’t seen before; Cuvee du Tcheste. This was a very fresh brown beer with sparkling bobbles. The food here was concentrated around the boar and in general prepared after old local traditions.
