Feel Hostels City Center Jan 30, 2017
Andalusia is so incredible. One of the places where my anchor is seriously shaking and wants to fall of the ship… I can easily imagine living in the olive grows, drinking great vine and roaming the hills with my (drunken) friends. Malaga is an old port city with a huge cathedral (which is kind of standard for Spain) and some history to explore. The old city is charming and lively, lots of shops, restaurants, small streets and finger food. Feel Hostels City Center is on the one of small squares. It is fairly easy to find it if you get into the right street hahaha, but that did not really happen to me. Of course I did not have any map, and just relied on asking people in my broken Spanish. And in Spanish words for going strait and right are almost the same, and therefore I got to know smaller streets all around the center. It was kind of festive day, weekend, and some kind of food festival, so I was in the hurry to leave the bags and attack this famous tapas (and beer)…

Finally I found the hostel in the small alley, behind this nice iron gate. I think that they have couple of buildings in that alley that are hidden from the outside world. Good thing about it is that the outside noise is not that bad, but still you’ll get some bouncing sounds in the middle of the night. By the way, you should be aware that in Spain dinner and going out starts around 11pm and it ends… well it does not end.

Reception is a bit confused and everything was the issue. I mean, nothing to do with me, I just waited for them to figure out what they are doing. Bottom floor is a small bar with larger area to chill and the only place with internet. That is a huge minus. They did not find it necessary to have good WiFi through their 4 floors of rooms. It does not make sense at all. Offer includes the breakfast which is awful in every way. Horrible drink, bad pastry, horrible coffee, only few utensils for the 100 bed hostel… You should not bother with it at all, and just go for nice breakfast in one of the bakeries around the town. It is pretty cheap and good.

Room was in weird shape so my bunk bed was a bit floating away from the wall. That’s big issue if you don’t have sides on the bed (this one did not have it) so your pillow can fall down, and sometimes even you… Every bed had curtain all around, but some “genius” connected those curtains on small rollers that are incredibly noisy and annoying. Imagine someone standing up in the middle of the night and just rolling out… everyone wakes up. Bathrooms are incredibly squeezed and small. Shower is less than 1x1m so you try to do anything in there.

All in all, it is not good place to be. Find some other hostel in town.
