Affordable family animal park Aug 04, 2009
This was part of our Blue Mountains tour, but Martin and I really enjoyed the park.

The price for a single adult ticket was 23 australian dollars (around 16 euros or 20 us dollars).

The park is like a giant petting zoo, with some animals roaming freely. The majority of the animals are in cages or enclosed areas. They had some shelter areas from human contact, with barriers telling the visitors not to go beyond that point.

The park is home to all kinds of australian animals such as wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles, reptiles, dingos, birds, wombats and even a tasmanian devil.

There was also the chance to have your picture taken with a koala. But not holding one, that was told back then, maybe it's possible now.

I traveled to the Blue Mountains with Australian Eco Adventures. This tour starts with a pick up from your hotel, and then takes you to breakfast at Featherdale Wildlife park. There, you can pet koalas and feed kangaroos! You don't get a ton of time at Featherdale, but that's okay because there is a lot more to see. The tour takes you into the Blue Mountains, where you visit Scenic World and can see the Three Sisters and ride the Scenic Skyway and Katoomba Scenic Raliway, and open-sided cart ride that is the steepest in the world with a 52 degree incline.
