Greatest value heaven May 05, 2013
This is one of those off the beaten track little gems that you by sheer luck manage to stumble upon.

Fatima's consists of a number of wooden bungalows with stilts in the sea, spectacular views of paradise.

There are two options: Without a bathroon (50,000Rp as of 2011) and with a bathroom (100,000Rp). The bungalow I stayed in had a sizable balcony with an amazing hammock from where, when the tide is in you can look over the balcony and see the fish swimming beneath you.

The bungalows are run by a family with the famous head of the house - known as Mamma Mia - who is a brilliant warm and loving character. In the evening fellow travelers (even from other accommodation) come to eat her food and socialise. You all eat at a communal table so it is a great chance to exchange travel tips and experiences, especially if there are several of you, as the food will take some time to come. Don't let this put you off, dinner at Fatima's can turn into a whole evening a event as you get to know the other like minded travelers, and needless to say - the food is more than worth waiting for.

Its not just the location but also Mamma Mia and her motherly friendliness and care that makes this place spectacular, and less that 100m from the beach and Rubiah dive centre, what more do you need. My intention was to stay here for 3 nights - that ended up being 10. I met another group of travelers who ended up staying for three weeks - you'll never want to leave this place.

I've only given 2 stars for the bathroom as its a standard very simple Indonesian experience for bungalows without a bathroom, but if this really bugs you then there are bungalows with bathrooms available.

This is the single greatest experience of accommodation i've had. Visit here, and you'll never forget it!
