Creole cooking and live music in downtown Cleveland Jan 11, 2009Fat Fish Blue is located in downtown Cleveland close to the House of Blues and Quicken Arena. It offers up Louisiana-Creole cooking and live music. As we were going to see Rent at Playhouse we made a reservation to ensure a table. The tables are all set up around the small stage. The food was not bad and the live music was pretty good as well. The price range for the food is $8.00 to $20.00. KJ Blues was the act: http://www.kjblues.com/ The menu has the usual jambalaya, etouffee and gumbo you would find on a Creole menu along with burgers, ribs and pulled pork items. There is a full bar with happy hour and drink specials. And if you have room for desert after your meal there are items like beignets and the carpetbagger - a chocolate bag filled with cake, fresh fruit and Godiva white chocolate mousse. Our server was a bit slow but the staff were all friendly and we did not feel rushed so were able to enjoy a leisurely meal listening to the performer before heading off to the theater. I am not a connoisseur of Creole food but the gumbo and the beignets were good. I would go here again to try other menu items and listen to the live music.
