On Wednesdays, Flower street is full of vendors selling organic, pesticide-free vegetables and fruits, as well as flowers, bread, cheeses, and cooked food from 11am until 2pm.
Flowers can be bought at 1/3 off retail, organic vegetables for about 1/2 off retail (and so much fresher), and it's just a great break from the tall corporate offices to bustle around and see what vendors are offering this week. Considering there isn't a grocery store downtown just yet, I've been doing my grocery shopping here every week. Their vegetables last about a week, and they have some of the most delicious blueberries for $5 a basket or $10 for 3 baskets. You can also mix baskets of strawberries and blueberries for the $10 price. But beware the green poo! Hahaaa =) |
