Beautiful bungalows by the beach May 10, 2011
Far Out Village Hotel is a superb place to stay if you're there on relaxing holidays.
I went there with my class for graduation. They have bungalows for 2 to 5 or 6 people I think. I stayed with two other people and it was great. Even if you're a big group of people you can have your privacy. It's a bit of a labyrinth and looks a bit like a big garden with little houses in between.
The bungalows are like typical Mediterranean houses (they're a bit smaller of course.. :P ), painted white and the temperature stays quite nice during the day even if it's boiling outside. They all have a little terrace with a little table where you can chill with your friends, have a drink or so before hitting up the bars.
They have a restaurant right in front of the beautiful swimming pool. They have different kind of food, just in case you don't like Greek food.
It is right in front of the beach, where you can get your own tanning chair or parasol if you don't fancy the sun too much. During the day there's always people advertising different bars from the isle, motivating you for the night.
Right next to the hotel, there's their camping site which is also a lot of fun. They have a different pool and a different bar, but the ambiance can get a lot better over there if you want to pre-drink before going into the bar street. Their cocktails are very cheap and very good too.
The staff is really amazing, we had a great time with all of them. All of them being from different parts of the world but most of them were Australian I have to admit.
The only negative thing is that it is a bit far out from the actual centre, where the clubs and bars are. Since it's a little island, the beach is on the lower side and the actual town is uphill. If you want to go out you can always take the bus, or walk of course but it can be a 20-30 minute walk. What was most annoying was coming back from the bars. Although, you always meet someone really interesting on your way back :)
I really recommend this place, it isn't very expensive and the quality is very good.

I remember it being about $5 for the dog shed which is your own space and very cosy, you can get more huts or stay at hotel if you want something more civil, but I love the dog shed :D
So it has very cheap food, a nice pool and right next to beach, they can pick you up at port for free. You can catch bus for night out and walk the donkey trail back drunk. It is cool place for Ios the only bad thing was I go too drunk and didnt score :( just a warning bartenders will give out lots of free drinks.
I do not think better place on Island to stay.
