a refreshing change in central oxford Jun 29, 2011
Being a 30 something oxfordian, its nice to find a bar in central oxford that isnt overwhelmed by drunken students! Far from the maddening crowd does exactly what it says on the tin. Situated centrally just off of magdalen street (down friars entry, close to the tesco express)it serves up a friendly relaxed atmosphere, wide variety of beverages (particularly good range of guest beers and ciders which they are always happy to let you have a little sample before you buy!) and some excellent home cooked food. The staff are friendly and good fun.

its certainly not the cheapest place to eat and drink, and like i mentioned before its not the type of place to go if you want loud music and even louder people but if you are looking for a place to catch up with old/new friends, try out some great drinks or just pop in for a quick bite to eat then this my recomendation.

oh free wifi available too but watch out for your phone signal, its location is not ideal for getting a signal so plan before hand!
