If you are travelling on a budget and want something quick and reasonable I recommend trying one of the many family resturants in Tokyo.

There are few main chain family resturants. Jonathan's, Denny's, Gusto, BLDY and Royal host to name a few. All of the menus are very similar and some sell breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jonathan's and Denny's are great for a quick and cheap breakfast. For around 500 to 600 yen you can get a breakfast set. The breakfast set normally consist of a drink (tea, coffee or juice), choice of toast, bread or rice, egg, sausage or bacon, hash brown and small salad.

For lunch and dinner you have many choices of lunch or dinner sets. Anything from pasta, rice, soup and salad to spaghetti and pizza. As well as special Japanese style lunch or dinner sets such as hamburger meat, chicken, pork and curry sets. You can also have the all you can drink bar. For around 200 to 300 yen its all you can drink tea, coffee, juice, and soft drinks.

As well as offering alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, sake and cocktails you will pay under 600 yen for a glass of these.

For the best value for money I recommend the "fruity bar" at the BLDY family resturant its all you can drink wine, wiskey, scotch, vodka and fruit liquors as well as mixers all for 590 yen. Yes its true all you can drink.

So for a cheap and resonable meal maybe not traditional Japanese style I would recommend one of the many family resturants around the Tokyo and Kanto area.
