Fairmont Towers Hotel Heliopolis Reviews
Classy airport area hotel Nov 29, 2009
If you want to escape from the work for a day or want to be near the airport for 2 days business trip to Cairo, so this is your choice.
This hotel, formerly Sheraton Heliopolis, is very suitable for businessmen & short period tourists. It is 3 minutes away from the airport. Please put in your mind that many hotels' websites tell you that the period is 15 or 20 minutes, but believe me, this has been estimated at dawn and for sure not at day or night time where the traffic is in stop condition in Cairo, so your trip may take nearly 2 hours to reach the airport from a downtown or Giza hotel. The hotel has 2 large swimming pools. One for adults and the other for less than 15 yrs old, so you will avoid the crowd and relax at the pool bar. It has also a piscine for kids. Rooms are spacious, cozy and comfy with nice bathtub. The service is good, may you find some staff especially men at reception, really not kidding, aggressive and arguing. The lobby snack & bar cafe is great with a live band @ night. The hotel has many cuisines and restaurants but expensive. Not recommended for families with kids. |

NOT A HOLIDAY HOTEL Nov 01, 2008
We stayed in this hotel for 6 days and did not like it from the inside at all. It was always rediculously air conditioned 24 hours a day which means u would feel cold in the lobby if sat there for too long. Also the reception staff are arrongant and unaproachable! In my opinion it was a business hotel, we had a desk and a fax machine in our bedroom!!!!!! the hotel and bedroom felt very business like, simple and posh, the bedroom felt like i was at home in my own room....not a feeling u want when u are supposed to be on holiday!
however the outisde of the hotel is very different from the inside....IT FEELS LIKE A HOLIDAY...they have a swimming pool, sunbeds, gym, very nicely kept back area etc etc but thats the back! the front entrance again is ok, just a flash building in my opinion nothing special! I would only reccomend this if u are going for a business trip. otherwise i would reccomend you book a different hotel which appears more holiday like from the inside not just the outside! |
