This one was my favorite of all. It's one of the newer memorials - wasn't here the last time I was in DC...
With quotes of FDR all over it, makes one really think. The current administration could take a few hints from this lovely memorial. Made of four sections (to represent his terms), statues, and waterfalls. On the final statue of FDR and his terrier, you will find a small wheel in the back. It's interesting how the media was able to keep the fact that he was in a wheelchair most of the time out of the limelight. Knowing today's media, it would be the exact opposite. |

So instead I headed down to finish my tour of all the memorials, checking out the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the FDR Memorial & the Jefferson Memorial. The last two were my faves - FDR has lots of fountains/waterfalls & I love water. Anyway, by this stage I was beyond exhausted from all the walking & staggered back to Ramsey's to collapse… Museum overload |

Roosevelt Memorial is in the vicinity. The Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR) Memorial commemorates the thrity-second President of the United Sates, who led the country during the Great Deprssion of the 1930s and World War II. The memorial is open and leads the a series… Around the Tidal Basin |

The FDR memorial and the Korean War memorial were nw since I was last in the city and I think the Korean War Memorial is my new favorite. If you look in the pictures you can see the faces that have been etched in the marble… Monuments at night is a must do!! |
