F1 Thionville Yutz Reviews
Pits stop in Thionville Jul 03, 2008
Reviewing a F1 hotel is a bit like comparing porno videos. If you have seen one, you've seen them all, or so I hear :D This fact of life is also true for F1 Hotels. They all look the same and have the same purpose; in and out like a pits stop. They don't call themselves 'Formule 1' for nothing.
I would like to refer to my other review of a F1 hotel (http://www.travbuddy.com/F1-Strasbourg-Pont-de-lEurope-v223611) for basic information. In this review I like to add a few other interesting facts and my experience in Thionville.
At each F1 hotel (which is best booked on-line) you receive a pin-number to open the door to your room. It is printed on the tiniest piece of paper, in such a small print that people with reading glasses have difficulty opening their door. Especially in the dark hours of the night. Don't forget to put the paper in your pyjama or bathrobe when you go to the toilet, which is out in the hall. You wouldn't be the first who had to spend the remainder of the night out in the hall, for there is no night porter to help you out.
In Thionville we had a lovely reception by the clerk who spoke several different languages. He was very helpful with information on where to have dinner in the neighbourhood because dinner is another thing not provided by F1.
Again the rooms were clean, ample towels provided and a TV-set present. With less people occupying the different wings of the hotel, this time our stay was a lot quieter. With its prime location near the highway, this hotel offered us exactly what we needed. No four hour search to find it, no fringes, just a clean, cheap bed for the night.
