Ok...at first, I was Terrified! This is something I never thought I would have the guts to try! But, it was beyond exciting. I highly reccommend tandem paragliding! {This is from a girl who is very afraid of heights!}
The location high above the cliffs in the Miraflores area of Lima is a wonderful, flat, grassy area. There are several very experienced paraglider 'pilots' who will talk you into this whole experience with ease! You are strapped up like a telephone repair man and the crescent-shaped sail is straightened out and prepared for take-off! The next thing you know...you are running with your pilot right behind you...straight off the cliffs! {I kept my eyes firmly on my feet rather than looking out over the cliffs as I ran} And then...wow...you are flying like a bird! The feeling is indescrible. The excitement in your tummy is so thrilling as you look out past the amazing cliffs and the gorgeous, blue Pacific Ocean. You are soaring high above the high-rise buildings looking down to see who is on top of the bulidings, BBQ-ing, Sunbathing...you are just that close!
Landing is nearly effortless and you just have this rush of complete, thrilling excitement! Don't miss this amazing experience if you find yourself in Lima.
The cost was surprising inexpensive! It cost {off-season} $40 USD! We did not book ahead, but instead just showed up....not knowing we would actually go through with it!
