The Explorer Hotel, Yellowknife, Canada Aug 09, 2008
I love this hotel. It sits on top of the hill overlooking the town of Yellowknife. The staff is also very friendly and willing to help in any way they can to make your stay most memorable and enoyable. I spent 2 winters here and they made me a home. The first winter I went up, it was being remodelled. The second time I went, it was done and what a beautiful improvement. They could also recommend good tours to take you watching the Northern Lights but they are also willing to give you directions to the best places just outside of the town to watch. You don't even need to leave town to see the Northern Lights, just turn away from any direct artificial lights. A very good place to stay!!!
