Exeter is a city in the southwest of the Untited Kingdom, on the south-coast which has about 120.000 inhabitants. Exeter is located on the river 'Exe' and has been founded by the romans. The celtics, vikings and local lords has conquered the city in the middle ages. During the second world war, Exeter has been bombarded 18 times. So the city has suffered many horrors, but the historic cathedral still stands.
A nice thing to know and to see is 'Parliament Street'. This is the world's narrowest street(2 people cannot pass eachother)! Exeters visiting card is the University of Exeter. By two railways, Exeter st Davids & Exeter Central. Exeter is connected with London, and it has an airport (Exeter International Airport) which was voted in Britains top 10, where 'Flybe', a low fare company, has its base. The local bus-company is 'Stagecoach Devon'. The best place to pick a bus, is High Street, because most of the busses drive through this street. You can go by bus to the beautiful St. Peter. For long distances with the bus, offers National Express good connections to Heathrow en Londen. In Exeter lived and raised old comedian Tommy Cooper. Colplay singer Chris Martin was born in Exeter. On the university of Exeter, J.K. Rowling graduated. She is the writer of the Harry Potter books. The local football club is Exeter City F.C. The headquarter of this club, St James' Park is one of the oldest in stadiums in England and has place for 8830 people.

We're counting-down to leaving - just one week left to go. I hope I don't forget all the Spanish that I learned in the build-up over the last month or two.

Exeter lies on the river Exe in the south western corner of Britain, approx 300km from London. It is the capital of Devon, one of Britain's lovliest areas. Getting there was easy, we flew in to Exeter Airport from Amsterdam on low cost airline Flybe.com
