 Murano, Burano & Torcello - lovely excursion Jun 16, 2006
If you are in Venice and have time, I highly recommend you to get away of the busy main island and do an excursion to the islands of the Northern Lagoon.
You can do it, by your own. Just take a vaporeto and drive from island to island. It will take you a full day and you'll visit: •Murano – glass work. You can visit the workshops. •Burano – lace work. Colorful and sweet houses! •Torcello – historical place. Not so touristy yet, so peaceful! Take your time and enjoy these peaceful islands with charming canals, houses and friendly people & discover a bit more of Venice.  Part of the Backpacking in Europe solo but not lonely :) travel blog
