Ideal alternative to the Lion! May 19, 2014
After 10 billion visits to Sin City; it was about time that I finally checked out the Castle! Stayed here in April for a friend's birthday weekend.

- Great price for the location

- Right across from MGM grand; and thereby close to everything else in which that entails, e.g. Wet Republic

- This hotel is the first stop on the Double-Decker strip bus tour

There isn't much great things to say about this place, and there isn't much - if any- bad things to say either. On the Vegas hotel scale, it is hitting mediocrity. But I would highly recommend it, if you are on a budget and cant afford MGM!

This was my first stay at the Excalibur, and first time playing in poker tournaments there. I found the hotel room to be better than most others I had stayed at different hotels in Vegas, especially during the holidays. The gaming environment was great. I'd recommend checking out one of the poker tournaments, as well as the free daily lessons they have for blackjack, craps, and roulette. The minimum bet at most tables in $10, but if you stick around after the free lessons, sometimes they let you play for $5 minimum, which is great!

Cheap on the strip Mar 14, 2012
Our stay at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas.

We stayed at this hotel for about 4 day's and we didn't even seen it all. We had so much fun at this hotel. The bedrooms were nice. Two big beds and a nice bathroom. You don't hear much about the noise of the casino so we slept very well. We spend one day traveling around the strip there is a train from this hotel to the Luxor hotel and to Mandalay bay. Bold worth visiting. You can spent a lot of time watching and discovering other hotels like Luxor, New york, New york who has a roller coaster inside, pretty cool, but it coast extra to take a ride. And of course Venice is nice to see with the gondolas inside.

So that were two day's. The casino is amazing but be careful after one game of playing dice we lost 20 dollars at once...wow there was our money in less then 5 seconds. haha.. But the American roulette was quiet nice to play. We searched for a low budget table and had a great time for a few ours. And we won some money jeaahh... We visit Cesar's palace to see Celine Dion at that time. But I know there are different acts coming there so pay attention to that. We went with a bus along the strip you can buy a card for the whole day and get out at any place you want.

We were getting out to walk to the famous Bord af las Vegas and makes a picture under need it.

So this is a low budget hotel to stay at the strip all hotels are free for visiting so it doesn't matter where you stay. Some parts of the hotel are only for there own visitors but still enough to see. In our hotel there are a lot of diner facilities so enough choices to make. There is even a dinner show where you can see the tournament of the king show. Totally in style of the castle hotel. You can even eat chicken with your hands without someone complaining about it. If that's not worth a visit I don't know what is :p

so have fun! And don't spend to much...:p

Entertaining Aug 14, 2012
I liked the inside of the hotel much better than the mgm grand, the layout was confusing but there were more restaurants that I liked and the casino was a nice spot.

The location wasn't ideal in that the walk to the middle of the strip was confusing/far -especially in heels.

The food at Dick's was alright, nothing special. The gambling was fun and the drinks were nice - they took forever to get to me though.

Would stay again. It was my first 21 year old visit. Will be back in a year or so. Might stay closer to the middle of the strip though. Excalibur will be fun for kids.

Super nice for a great price Feb 13, 2011
My friend and I were meeting up with some other friends from out of state, so the 4 of us got a hotel room on the strip. We got a great deal, mostly because we got it a few weeks in advance and we went Tues-Thur. Upon getting to the hotel, we were quite impressed with how clean and nice everything looked. When we checked in, we were informed that they didn't have our room ready, but we would be upgraded for free to a luxury room. We were quite pleased with the quality of the room once we got in.

Upon exploring the rest of the hotel, security is high (you can't enter the hotel/elevator part unless you have a valid key) which was great! The casino was pretty standard for Vegas, there were some great bars/restaurants that were open late night or 24 hours.

Good location, it's walking distance to all the casinos/clubs/etc that makes Vegas the glitzy city it is.

Overall, I would definitely recommend and stay again!

Affordable Strip Hotel May 19, 2011
Meet-up with two friends from Switzerland in Vegas and we choose the Excalibur, firstly because of the price but also because it is located at the Strip.

The inside of the hotel cannot be compared with the "famous" Beallagio or Caesar's Palace but for us it was more than ok. The service was great: We needed a third bed in our room and the staff put it there fast and after a 10 sec call to the reception. What I have to mention is that the service in the Casino is not that fast. When it is full at the weekend you might wait long for your drink if you are not playing at the big tables. But is not an important detail.

The room was enough big, even there was lacking space of putting clothes. The bathroom was big, clean and bright. Excalibur is located at the beginning of the strip, this might be an advantage or a disadvantage, depends on what you are looking for. It is connected with the Luxor and also with Mandalay Bay.

Inside the hotel are different possibilities to eat. I would recommend the Steak House, close to the Buffet. The Buffet is only good for breakfast. To have dinner, go out! I liked alot the two Starbucks inside after the long gambling nights.

The outside pool area is great! There are 4 different pools. Unfortunately you can almost sit in cause the water only reaches your belly button :-)

For groups it might be worth to rent one of the "tents", which are equipped with tv, fan and comfortable seating.

If you do not care too much about extremely luxury interior and you want to have more money to gamble, Excalibur might be your choice ;-)

Great location in Las Vegas Mar 11, 2011
This is a perfect location to lay your head at night in Las Vegas... if you even go to sleep! It is connected to the New York New York and Luxor hotels. You can easily walk to all the hotels up and down the strip. This was my third time to Vegas and this was the least expensive trip there.

Tip to the ladies: If hotel employees offer you wrist bands in the casinos TAKE THEM! They will get you into the clubs later on that night for free.

This was my first time at this hotel and I got a bit disappointed when I entered my room. I found stains on the floor, I got a wall for a view. I didn't get a smoking room since I booked it.

The hotel looks great from the outside, but it´s a bit run down on the inside.

Perfect Spot on the Strip Jul 19, 2011
Stayed over the Christmas Vacation at the Exaclibur. Perfect spot on the strip, across from MGM, New York New York not far from monorail to go to end of strip. Price was good, buffet cheap, price of hotel average. Walking distance from everything. Hotel staff was great. The small amount won on strip was in our our hotel.

Cheap & Cheerful on the Strip Jul 13, 2011
Well for my first visit to Las Vegas I decided to stay at the Excalibur. I was greeted by an amazingly themed castle style hotel, and upon checking in immediately upgraded free of charge. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Ideally located and if you are not too fussed about over the top luxury its definitely a recommendation!!

I really liked the widescreen room and the hotel is in a good location. Convenient for the Luxor & Mandalay Bay and an easy walk to the main areas of the strip.

This was a nice hotel on the outside, but very mediocre on the inside. It had everything you would expect for a hotel but not... more. The beds were at an acceptable level of comfort and the hotel was at an acceptable level of cleanliness.

Excalibur Mar 29, 2011
Although Excalibur from the outside looks like it is fit for a princess it is far from it on the inside lol!! The only thing I enjoy was the location which was close to everything. I would reccommend this hotel solely for it's location.

Good value hotel on the Strip Mar 21, 2011
Good value hotel on the Strip.. Excalibur is a large hotel and has plenty of rooms.. Room is clean and functional but a bit dated - lighting is dim and there is smell of cigarette smoke. Good price for the location right in the middle of the strip

Not Great Feb 06, 2011
Not Great, expensive compared to most hotels on Strip and its not exactly clean... security is a little lapse and the staff are kind of rude. Does have a cool design though!!

Perfectly Good Hotel in Excellent Location Oct 19, 2010
Great location at the south end of the Strip with MGM Grand, Tropicana and New York New York on the same corner. Cheapest of the lot too. Links by a walkway to Luxor. Rooms are pretty big if a bit basic but did the job.

$10 taxi to airport. Handy for the bus - the Deuce stops outside MGM for Freemont St and on the way back stops right outside the hotel. Quicker to take the Gold Line (same $7 cost for a 24 hour pass) which uses these stops too.

Food in the hotel is the only problem - the buffet is DIRE. Suggest the MGM grand across the road for a few extra $ with the best buffet at Main St Station off Freemont Street.

Perfectly good hotel and would stay again other than I am fickle and am likely to want to be somewhere different if I go back :)

Honeymoon Feb 02, 2010
We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon in August 2009, perfect if you're on a budget. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, plenty to see and do, (but should have stayed away from time-share touts!) Loved the shows inside and outside of the hotel, staff very friendly.

Would recommend the helicopter tour to the grand canyon, fabulous.

I would love to go back in a few years time!!

Affordable hotel on the Strip Apr 20, 2009
We had a nice stay at the Excalibur Hotel in Vegas. It's one of the oldest hotels on the Strip but everything is clean and the rooms are very spacious, especially when your used to European hotelrooms. We had a double room, with two single beds but it were actually two double beds. The bathroom was also very spacious. One thing that wasn't ok was that a room of two members of our group wasn't cleaned when we checked in. But the hotel immediately gave them another room. Breakfast was ok. We were not used to the American breakfast but there was a lot of choice. The location of the hotel is ok but not perfect. But because the hotel isn't very expensive, especially not compared to other hotels in Vegas, i would definately recommend the hotel.

This hotel was descent if you're on a budget, but in all honest the Luxor was in my opinion a little better and for the same price. When you check in at the Excalibur you have the option of upgrading your room to the "widescreen room" because it has a flat screen TV and is more updated for $20 bucks more. If you're not going to spend much time in the room (which no one really does anyways) and you're on a budget and enjoy the Reinassance style this is the hotel for you :)
