sigournay 3 reviews	Sep 04, 2007 What a beautiful city we loved it. Been there a few times. So much too see and the food is out of this world. The Heineken Meuseum is a must and so is the Van Gogh. Take a day trip to Delft and The Haag which has a beach. Prices are reasonable and most of the people speak English. The tulips are the best.

We only needed one night in this place to see everything....the Red Light District (which does not hold back on AnYtHiNg!) The sex museum (very interesting as well as amusing!) and the various 'Coffee Houses' which basically served everything but! We had a delicious piece of cake that kept us amused for hours...hehehe… Red lights and smokey haze...

The smart shops sell everything from sexual stimulants to herbal extasy and mushrooms. We stopped by one to check it out, and ended up getting a full tutorial from the self-proclaimed Shroom Doctor. …going to actually GET a prostitute, I would never forgive myself if I didn’t at least go SEE the red light district, see if it was everything it was made out to be. Some said it was dangerous, what with the drugs and the free sex and all, but I didn’t buy it, because the city obviously generated a lot of money from tourists and the locals wouldn’t let the moneybags… My First Time in Amsterdam

Well, yes, they are tolerant in terms of building “homomonuments” and having liberal laws about pretty much everything, but on a day to day basis they are pretty intolerant and pretty quick to tell you what you’re doing wrong (like walking on the wrong side of the footpath, that you need to put money in the parking meter, and that because… Amsterdam - the geeky kid from high school...
