It ranges to what you want to see as to what the cost. Walking the royal mile is interesting in it's self. Some on out tour group did the Mary's Kings Close did not enjoy it while others did. I enjoyed a late night Ghost tour (5 pounds) while others did not. Gotta pop into the Deacon Brodie Bar for a drink, fun bar. Enjoyed the food at the Filling Station. I loved Edinburgh Castle and would have liked to have seen more of it but we were at an after hours party. The Wool Mill just below the castle is very interesting. It was peaceful to walk along Prince's Street and take in the roses growing below the castle. Find the time to have Tea at Barmoral and absorb its grandeur. We had dinner at the Frankenstein but was not overly impressed with the food. Had a mid-morning elephant shaped Shortbread cookie and Hot Chocolate at the Elephant House. I enjoyed gazing out the window at the castle and Greyfriars Cemetery. The one thing that has stuck with me is walking through the streets at night and hearing the street violinist playing and echoing off the old buildings. The city is just so amazing. Bring your walking shoes because it is a lot of uphill walking or stair climbing. If you get a to see a movie you have to get a VIP ticket at the Dominion Theater
