I realised today that I have been 18 for exactly 4 months! Not even half a year! On the one hand it made me feel very young, on the other it made me stop and take stock of what I feel I have achieved since I legally became an adult. Before my birthday I made a quiet pact with myself; turning 18 and running away to Europe was my chance to start living the life I love and loving it (to paraphrase the sage Mr Marley). I promised me that I would grab my goals, big and small, with two hands. Sorry ...

Finally Sylvie suggested to have a meetup in her beautifull city Antwerp. For me this came as a surprise! I remember her words quite clearly after the Amsterdam meetup, 'I will never going to organise such a meetup at my place'. After different attempts to convince her otherwise I gave up. She didn't want to organise a meetup so I respected that. Just to find out weeks later she is going to organise one!
Thumbs Up for you Sylvie, you proved you can do this very well and all TravBuddy's atte...

It's 6am and I've been up for about an hour and a half whiling away my last few moments in Rome. The distinct smell of baby spit is permeating something.. I can't figure out if it's my hair or my sweater. Spending 2 days away from sometimes screaming, sometimes smiling and always charming Asia really broke my heart for some reason. I missed her so much while I was away and I am sad to know that I probably won't see her for at least another year and a half. By then, she'll be an entirely diffe...

So it's 5:30 in the afternoon right now and I just came home 2 hours ago from a long train ride from Amsterdam. I wasn't really going to blog about the meet-up now since I have tons more of blogs lined up to do and it's going to take me until summer to finish them all up but I just couldn't resist the temptation of reliving all the crazy memories I had yesterday. I should actually be sleeping right now (I bet Lauro is) but I'm just glad that I had two mad hours of sleep or I'm proba...

I woke up while I heard Pablo walking to the bathroom. When he came back he packed his stuff and said goodbye to me. He had to catch the bus. I really didn't know. Sorry Pablo, If I had known that, I would have been up to.I had my breakfast and was packing my stuff. Outside the hostel I saw Koosje and Wouter having there breakfast. At 10am we 3 went to the Sudphanne to meet Alex and the gang, but nobody there. Koosje and Wouter went for some siteseeing and I sorted my pictures in front of the...

I start the day with the sort walk down to the Winter Palace to for a visit to the museum. The place is so famous for all the art they have on display so I figure it is time to be really civilized and cultural. I get to the counter and pay - unfortunately my Russian is pretty bad ok non-existent would probably be closer to the truth - so I have to pay western entry fees. A full 10€ plus another 3½€ for photo fee. This is pretty expensive for Russia. Well somewhat p...

My next meet-up was going to be in the far far north of the Netherlands. But the question is: Is it still the Netherlands? J After I picked up Alex in Zutphen, we checked our passports to see if they are good till 30 days after entrance of Friesland J . We were lucky. Around noon we arrived at the TravBuddy hotel, Eden oranje.I parked my car in there parking garage and left our luggage at the desk. It was to early to check in. Outside was already sitting Mr. Brett. After ordering some coffee,...

My first meet-up - and I almost missed it! It wasn't until April 15th when Melanie (--> mellemel8) asked me whether I would go to Duesseldorf on Saturday. Duesseldorf? That's just a stone's throw away. 40 km (25 miles) from the place where I live. Perfect! Suprisingly enough there were no other appointments for the meet-up day - I would go! Found out that abou four to five people would show up that I had "talked" to before. On Saturday I got into my car and drove to Duesseldorf. Got a parki...

This blog I would like to contribute to Birol. I owed him a lot this trip. He was really nice taking his 2 days off work showing me around Istanbul for 4 days. We went to some tourist attractions as mentioned in Fatih's blogs and also some local hang out places and met some of his friends. It was good having him around since I felt secured having someone especially local to walk with. I felt very much better about Istanbul. One thing I like about Turkey is that the people are so inviting and t...

At least.. the spring has come and the winter is gone!!! (as for winter, it could be cancelled for me).I got a message from Beata - my katrabaho (LOL, =my workmate), who wanted to go biking, cuz the weather was 'splendide'! But since she lives 20km from my town we had to make an appointment somwhere in the middle of the way. And we did. Well it was not exactly in the middle between our houses, but ok, i can go a bit farther;). The place to meet was in Pomorsko at the ferry. After some 40minut...

Today is my last day in Paris and as planned I'm visiting the Louvre. It's a HUGE museum so I decided to start early. I've passed by it the week before so I've pretty much already admired the pyramid and the Jardin des Tuileries. I have a strategy. First, I de-stressed by reminding myself that it's impossible to see everything even if I spent the whole day here! Or according to my book, a whole life time will not be enough. With an imaginary drum roll, I hel...

Ok, i will add other city informations and then i can start to write about my own trip ;)European City Informations Oslo, the capital of Norway, is situated at the head of Oslo Fjord surrounded by forested ridges and is both a municipality and a county. The city limits encompass wilderness areas as well as an array of restaurants almost unparalleled in Scandinavia. Oslo City Hall is located in the city centre only a few hundred metres from the city's main street and overlooks Oslo Fjord ...

As I let out my cat this morning, I noticed the sun was coming up. I thought it looked amazing today, and went inside to get my cam. Of course I had to have some pictures...lol
Enjoy my rising sun :o))
After taking care of some very urgent and important business I figured it was too great a weather to be sitting inside, so I headed out and went hiking. For once I just shot a few pics. It felt a bit weird, but at the same time I have so many pictures from the same eara,...
