july 21 - this is the day i finished my blog.it was hard to start and finish it. hard to start because eventhough i brought something for me to write, i just couldnt write all the things happened, the notebook remained blank, unfinished, unclear. the only recollections i have are my pictures and my memories - everytime i look at them - it brings... painful joy in my heart - joy of how beautiful everything was and yet... it pains me that all beautiful things in the world must come to an end.ha...

Monday saw the numbers dwindling down to four, three, two, and finally just Sylvie.
On Monday morning I was awake before 7. I always have this phobia of waking up late on the day I have to be at the airport, but as usual, I ended up waking long before I was supposed to. But it gave me time to pack up, shower, and relax. Pieter was up not long after me because he also had to be somewhere, dressed up in his kilt (picture supplied). Ashish was up next, just before Pieter left us. And the...

Gah I was so mad and it made me late getting to Ruby's which made us late for Canada day partying and drinking!! Once we got to Ruby's her mom fed me, her, and Hannah SO much food. It was awesome, I love being at Ruby's! Then we headed to the post office where we waited in queue for a good half hour. Finally...

Christmas day 2007. For the first time in my life, we would break with tradition. Normally we would have had a big family dinner, but this year was different. It was the first Christmas after the unexpected death of my father earlier this year. It being all very unreal and strange, we decided to throw caution to the wind and step away from tradition. We (my mother, my wife and I) decided to get away from it all and take a trip to Switzerland to the chalet owned by my sister's hubby. Be...

So yesterday I walked to the Cliffs from Doolin along the coast (recommended by the hostel caretakers versus taking a bus). I believe I was trespassing the whole time as my walk included jumping over barricades, rivers, stone fences, past cows and other grazing animals with a curious glare, and eventually walking on the edge of the cliffs to the central tourist overlook. Imagine the stares I got! It was so wonderful though. The views were fantastic! And the peace and q...

Yes, I was definitely excited about the meetup in Dusseldorf that I didn't mind waking up at 4:30 in the morning (I slept at 1:30, what the $&&*$*?!) to catch that 6am train that leaves the nearest train station here, which is located from another town and walking there takes me at least 20 minutes. I didn't get to buy a ticket for high speed trains in advance and so if I buy it now it will cost me 100euros one way (what the $#%^ again?!). I only bought a wee...

How TravBuddy's look like The Day After!
We spend the entire evening in restaurant Zollhof and after that we kept the Weissen Bär Bar open till 5 in the morning. Checkout time at the Backpackers Hostel on Sunday was 11 o'clock sharp!
Don't forget to strip off your bedlinen and return it to the reception :D
