This hostel has everything a traveler would want and i'm surprised with the average reviews...

The kitchen is quite large with plenty of space for several people. Two stoves, two fridges, 2 dishwashers (i think) plenty of pots and pans.... this is a full kitchen, restaurant quality used to prepare breakfast by the hostel too.

The eating area is comfortable and in a large space, plenty of room to spread out when everyone's eating breakfast, which is also pretty good for a hostel.

My only complaint is for the person who stole my beer. I had it wrapped up but I guess someone moved it and knew what it was... either way some jerk owes me three beers!

The staff was friendly and glad to help out anyway they could! ;)

As for the rooms, I thought they were standard issue bunk-beds, nothing wrong with them and I slept well.

The hostel has a pretty good bar attached to it too with TV's and dart boards if I remember correctly and upstairs there's a room to either chill or read or use the phone or play some video games and pinball. This room was always deserted and I used to plan my day before heading out.

The location is close to the action yet just on the outskirts so there will be some walking or bussing to get where you're going. On the other hand you may not have go far as there's a grocery store, pubs and activities close by too so it all depends on what you're doing.

The only thing this hostel doesn't have is character, as it's quite bland and basic with its white walls and numbered doors. It's also a large hostel so I guess they have more important things to spend their time and money on than a bit flare but it would be nicer with a splash of colour here and there.

Overall, the Euro Hostel is a good solid hostel for budget travelers.

Hostel has a good location, youre in the middle of the centre within 10 min. walking but glasgow is not that big so i guess its not that hard to find another better place to stay which has a good location as well.

Bed sheets were poor, with stains everywhere(gum). Walls en floors had a lot of stains as well.breakfast was very poor!

good things:location and the bar attached to the hostel.. a lot of international people go there:)

a better than an average hostel chain Jun 14, 2008
The best things about this hostel are the location, beds and the breakfast. The location is good, because the hostel is situated 10 minutes away from the the train station. Also one of the principal shopping thoroughfares in the city, Argyle street is just a stone's throw away. If you don't want to eat in cafes and restaurants, there's also a supermarket just 2 minutes away from the hostel.

The dorms are rather small, but they are comfortable and they have en-suite bathrooms. Unfortunately, there's not much space for luggage though.

There's a big TV-lounge in the hostel with 2 big sofas, TV, pooltable and vending machines with snacks, drinks and ready meals. A big breakfast is also served in there and it includes among others, toast, cereals, youghurt, juices and coffee/tea.

not much space for luggage is a slight understatement as the rooms were jam backed with beds and the ensuite was a joke as two people showering left 12 other room mates devoid of any toilet facilities unless you got the lift down to reception. just a bit too close for comfort
