What a long drive. It's the first time I've gone from Aberdeen, WA to Eureka, CA in one day driving solo. Whew!! It was a beautiful drive and traffic wasn't bad. Some people don't like to go down 101 because you have to slow down through all of the towns. But, I much perfer it to 'hurtling' down I-5.

Thirty-one miles of 1000 year old (or more) redwoods start 17 miles south of Eureka CA.
Unimaginable in size, they always need to be compared with something familiar (human form, car, house etc.); e.g., "Shrine" drive-thru tree and/or The Eternal Tree House has a 20 ft. room inside of this 2,500 year old living redwood.
We had a hard time limiting the use of our camera (I think it even overheated at one point).
