Best markets in Australia Apr 02, 2014
Eumundi is 20km west of Noosa Heads and approximately and just under an hour and a half by car from Brisbane.

The markets operate on Wednesdays from 8am to 1.30pm and on Saturdays from 7am to 2pm. These are some of the most comprehensive markets I've ever been to with food, drinks and so many stalls with excellent quality goods for sale.

They have everything from homewares, artwork, clothing, shoes and jewellery. I was particuarly impressed with a lady who had a stall with a variety of different flavoured teas and a stall selling fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

The town itself is small and appealing to tourists however it doesn't have a touristy vibe. It's very earthy and has some great little cafes and shops.

Well worth the trip up from Brisbane and a lovely day out.

Charming Eumundi Market Sep 29, 2010
Every Wednesday and Saturday Eumundi streets become crowded with people attending to the local Market.

This market offers fresh products, clothing, handicraft, art and food. Walk around it and you will find different things for everyone's taste. There are also food stalls, where you can taste products from the local farmers and even buy some fresh products from the area.

The market is not just one spot, but three. Each of them focused in something in particular, but still have a bit of everything.

Once you are done with the market, take a walk around the charming town, you will feel you go back in time. Things here are relatively cheap and the entrance is free. Be sure to wear comfy shoes.

A brilliant market with hundreds of artisans. Although not all of the stall holders are local, they do represent a wide range of Australian arts and crafts. You can buy anything here from shoes to picture frames, clothing, bird feeders, cd's of local musicans, and there is a huge array of food stalls. The wonderful thing is that by far the majority of items sold are handcrafted and not cheap plastic imports. Across the road and a short walk up the hill is a buffet restaurant run by Hari Krisnas. For $8Australian a plate they over 4 different options and the opportunity to slump back into their sofas on the deck and enjoy your meal away from the noise and hoards below.
