Ettamogah Pub and Aussie World Reviews
Pop into the Ettamogah Pub to see the Peculiar Aussie Icon Nov 21, 2008
We couldn't miss the iconic Ettamogah Pub on the Bruce highway,(A1) when we were passing through the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. Standing out for all to see is the 1927 Chevy truck parked up on its bright red roof. The Pub sits between Caloundra and Maroochydore and is about 82klms from Brisbane, the capital of Qld. Caloundra is 12klms closer to the beach coast and Maroochydore is a further 19klms heading north bound through Sippy Downs and Mountain Creek.
We have driven past this Aussie icon many times, but never called in before. Well, now we are so pleased that we have. We dropped in to check out the quaint little stores that are beside the Pub. I guarantee that you will have a thirst by the time you have finished buying interesting bits and pieces (A lot of homemade produce and local artefacts) and then walk up the hill to the Pub. We were so interested in checking the Pub out inside that we almost forget to buy a cold drink. We got caught up checking out the cartoons on the wall with all the other Aussie paraphenalia. The original Ettamogah Pub was first built in an area just outside Albury, Table Top, NSW. A cartoonist called, Ken Maynard, featured The Ettamogah Pub in the now defunct 'Australasian Post' magazine. He named it from a nearby place called Ettamogah that he liked. There are a few Ettamogah Pubs built throughout Australia now - in Sydney, Cunderdin in Western Australia and the Sunshine Coast. We had a really great Aussie lunch in Bluey's Bar and Grill, which is upstairs in the 18metre high tourist attraction. The Ettamogah Pub, which has a quirky shape and caricature appearance, was opened in November 1989, building the inside furniture with trees cleared from the actual site. Fantastic! Add the Ettamogah Pub to your 'places to visit' list. The only day it closes is Christmas Day and is open every other day from 9am til late. Bluey’s Bar and Grill, is open every day for lunch and dinner from 11am to 8pm. Closed Christmas Day.

If you are driving from Brisbane to Sunshine coast you must stop off at the Ettamogah Pub and Aussie World. Its 82 KM past Brisbane.
Ettamogah Pub was built in 1989 and is a replica of popular cartoon series in Australia and New Zealand. The Ettamogah pub has great food and drinks and inside it features everything Australian.
