One of the best museums in East Africa Sep 25, 2017
The Ethnological Museum of Addis Ababa is found in the main campus of Addis Ababa University around Sidist Kilo area. It is one of the best museums in East Africa regarding the great collection of resources, the wide areas of topics it covers, and the way it is displayed. The museum focuses mainly on the cultural aspects of the different tribal people of Ethiopia, but it is a very good place to learn about Ethiopia in general – its history, religion, nature, geography, etc

The Museum was the residence of Emperor Haile Sillassie I (the last king of the Solomonic Dynasty and who ruled Ethiopia from 1931 – 1974) before he made it Ethiopia’s first university.

The entrance fee for foreign visitors is 100 Ethiopian Birr (~5.5 US Dollars) per person.
