After being on the streets of downtown Gwangju shopping or hanging just walking around, nothing is more relaxing to the eyes and feet then a stop at the Ethnic Cafe. When you walk down the stairs you immediately feel like you have found a gypsies grotto.I really can't say enough about this place! Throw pillows and soft indian veils delicately decorate the tiered seating, which just add to the wooden tree in the center by a small still pool. The place makes you feel like you are hidden away from the world. Candles are practically the only lighting that can be found which make it the perfect spot for a romantic date or a chill evening. The Cafe has some hookahs available and their drinks are decent. You really don't have to do either of these to enjoy and appreciate the ambiance though. I think anyone would fall in love with this tiny place that is all comfort and class. They provide you with bags to put your shoes into so it is easy to keep track of them, and it is super amazing because they give the girls little blankets so when they are wearing a skirt they can relax and not have to worry about which way to sit to avoid an embarrassing moment.

Honestly, a visit to the Ethnic Cafe is a must to wind down from the day or nights events.

I agree - Ethnic bar is great! They also have decent wine, unlike a lot of the other bars, and they do cocktails as well.
