We spent Sunday evening flying the kites on the shore, several kilometers from the center of Tallinn. Great therapy, just looking in the sky and doing nothing. Three same color kites definitely drew attention of people walking on the promenad. And I was lying on the grass relaxing before working week.

So... I promised one of my travbuddy friends (here I wave my hand and smile) to show some pictures of Viljandi. I am sure that Viljandi is probably the most beautiful town in Estonia (after Tallinn, of course), but I haven't been there lately. So most of my old pictures are recorded to cds and hidden far away. It took me some time to find this one, but obviously this trip of August 2005 wasn't very informative. But until better times come and I find more suitable pictures...I remember this tr...

Once more i found myself heading back to Tallinn for the purpose of a Russian visa. Although i love this city, i was kind of dissappointed to return for a third time in such a short period! I stayed at the Old Town Backpackers on Lai Street again, which i would highly recommend for its sociable atmosphere, great location and friendly staff.
My first day there, i concentrated on applying for my Russian visa and just taking things easy as i had barely slept on the bus from St Pe...

Where is this place? - not even my girlfriend had ever been here - this was truly out in the middle of nowhere but everything has its charm. There is nothing like breaking new ground.
We were meeting my girlfriends uncle and aunt. It was quite fun getting there - first we had drive 60 km north of Tartu then when arriving there - no! You have to drive 20 km out of some country road then its there - no! You have to drive 5 km out of some even smaller roads and then fi...

We got up early today to sunny skies and moderate temperatures. We took the Superseacat ferry across the Baltic Sea to Tallinn. The journey took about 1 hour 45 minutes over a fairly smooth sea. Although there were a few small bumps it was not eventful. The Baltic Sea freezes in the winter and the faster Superseacat (a catamaran) does not go over ice, only the slower ferry can go across after the ice breakers makes way for them. It's pretty amazing to think this big surface of sea as fro...

One thing that you should not cheat yourself of when in Tallinn is to go to some of the spa hotels or health clinics. The level of service is very high and the quality is also very good - and when you take the price in to consideration there is no doubt any more.
One of the best Spa hotels is situated just north of the city and the view over Tallinn is taken from this place here. The hotel is called TOP SPA and they have rooms where you can have a sauna on your room.
The coastline of Talli...

Leaving Helsinki was EXTREMELY hard... I was almost tempted to just stay. But I had arranged to meet Pete in Riga on Thursday and he was flying specially for it.So i caught the ferry to Tallinn and it was a very pleasant journey.Tallinn is a nice small city and the 'old town' is extremely beautiful, clean, interesting, architectural and well appointed.I spent my days walking right through the alley ways and streets seeing a heap of churches, buildings, shops, cellars and the like. It's a very ...

There’s something disconcerting about standing beside an empty baggage carrousel in a strange country without your luggage. Worse is the ominous sound of silence as the belt grinds to a halt. Welcome to Estonia!
Our adventure began at Manchester Airport.
“I’m sorry, sir,” said the woman behind the ticket collection counter. “I’m afraid your flight has been cancelled. But don’t worry; you’ve been booked on another one. Finnair to Helsinki, t...

Changed plans and arrived in Tallinn early. Going to spend more time
here with maybe a daytrip to Helsinki to meet some Finnish friends I
met earlier in Warsaw!
If you are visiting Tallinn in the summer, make sure to book your rooms
early. Had to walk around for 2 hours before finding an accomodation,
and am still pretty far from the old town.

We went out , had fun , got separated when the bars closed. Luckily I found a 24hours pub where i met this Swedish guy and this Estonian girl. The girl had one of the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen, and when she asked if we could home together i just melted.. Sadly i lived in a dorm room and she lived with her mother, so nothing really happened..EDIT: Had to change the text since I wrote this piss drunk after i came home to the hostel, and would probably be rated R... hehe

Today morning I was about to wake up and get out of my bed when my mum entered my room and said that the letter I've been waiting for is here. Plus couple of more postcards from the Postcrossing project. Ah, that was a really exciting feeling to know that the letter is here. The letter that will inform me if I'm invited to do entrance examination of Jyväskylä UAS, Degree Programm in Music and Media Management.I really didn't bother to get out of the bed to open the letter. Eyes still sleepy...
